Anonymous targeted the Home Office as a protest against the extradition of Gary McKinnon, Richard O'Dwyer and Christopher Tappin, as well as the Home Office's proposed total digital surveillance of all UK internet traffic email and skype.
Janis was concerned that other young and/or vulnerable people might end up being prosecuted or even Extradited under draconian laws that could translate a worldwide online protest as being something more sinister.
Many Judges have no understanding of the internet and seem unable to distinguish between what constitues a threat, a Protest, a hack or a DOS attack. The sentences are therefore usually totally disproportionate and do not fit the alleged crimes.
Extradition was never intended to be used for people like Gary McKinnon, Richard O'Dwyer or others who were physically in the U.K at all times during the alleged crimes.
